Prom Season

The British Proms Season

The Proms are as British as you can get and they date back over hundred years. Steeped in tradition,  The Proms, more formally known as The BBC Proms, or The Henry Wood Promenade Concerts presented by the BBC, comprises of an eight-week summer season of daily orchestral classical music concerts and other events held annually, predominantly in the Royal Albert Hall in central London, England. Originally founded in 1895, each season currently consists of a full schedule of concerts and additional “Proms in the Park” events across the United Kingdom on the last night. The Last Night of the Proms is an emotional experience as thousands of ‘Prommers’ join together shoulder-to-shoulder to sing the National Anthem in Hyde Park under the stars or in the Royal Albert Hall, as the season draws to a close for the Last Night of the Proms. Flag waving, swaying from side to side or bobbing up and down with the music, is mandatory! And for a great collection of flags, British Costumes and Union Jack decorations, at Karnival Costumes you’ve come to the right place.
