World Book Day and Book Week Fancy Dress Costumes for Girls
In the UK, World Book Day is celebrated in the first Thursday in March. An annual event it was initiated here by Prim Minister Tony Blair back in 1990s. On the day, several million schoolchildren were given a special £1 World Book Bay token which could be redeemed against any book in any UK bookshop. Now on World Book Day, every child in full-time education in the UK is given a voucher to be spent on books. The UK celebrates the day in early March so as not to clash with the school Easter holidays and our own St George's Day which are celebrated on 23 April, the date chosen by UNESCO who actively promote the event.
